Kurti the pig heads out into the world alone carrying a stick over his shoulder with a bundle dangling from it. A signpost shows him where he is heading – 2023.

In a good mood because he is a symbol of good luck himself, Kurti has plenty of four-leaf clovers with him and even more line his path. A lucky toadstool grows on the side and ladybirds buzz around. With so many symbols of good luck on one great New Year gift, what could go possibly wrong?

Good luck symbols and their meaning

Clover: Since four-leaf clovers are very rare, it takes luck to find one. Taken along on journeys, the clover protects the bearer from bad luck.

Toadstool: Much sought after as a symbol of good luck, the toadstool‘s fairytale appearance promises an exciting future.

Ladybird: Because of its usefulness in agriculture, farmers used to believe that the ladybird was a gift from the Virgin Mary.

The following inscription appears on the back of the lucky token: “Small and round I may be yet every hour I bring luck to thee”.

The Lucky Token 2023 is also available in goldsilver gold-plated and bronze.

The Road to Luck

New year, new destination, new lucky symbol, new lucky token:

2023: Kurti's journey begins.

2024: In China, he flies with a dragon.

2025: In Japan, he poses with a maneki-neko, a beckoning cat.

2026: Still in Japan, he swims with fish.

2027: In India, he rides an elephant.

2028: In China, he sits on a pile of gold coins with a toad.

2029: Also in China, he celebrates a Happy New Year with a bat.
