The personal information that you provide to the Austrian Mint (in particular your name, address and email address), and which the Austrian Mint then stores, is used for the purpose of processing your order, your purchase order and dealing with your various wishes as a customer (see also Data use for other purposes).

The Austrian Mint does not store or process any data that the relevant persons have not themselves supplied to the Austrian Mint. Here the duty of disclosure follows article 14 of the GDPR.

Statutory basis:

The personal information supplied by you is required for the processing of the contractual relationship you have entered into. On the basis of statutory requirements, this information will be collected and stored in line with article 6, para. 1 of the GDPR.

Data use for other purposes:

For any use extending beyond this, personal data supplied such as:

  • Details of customer club membership
  • Data relating to personal fields of interest
  • Data for the dispatch of the coin magazine
  • Data for sending advertising (information and offers on further products of the Austrian Mint).

requires your consent, which may be withdrawn at any time by writing to the Austrian Mint.

In order to fulfil any other customer wishes (subscriptions to the coin magazine, or mailing lists for information and offers on further Austrian Mint products), the Austrian Mint uses a variety of external service providers (shipping or mailing firms). The Austrian Mint supplies these firms with your data (name, address and/or email address). These contracted service providers are under obligation to delete your data once the orders have been made. Otherwise, we will not forward your data to any third parties.

Retention period for your data

As long as a relationship exists between you as a customer/interested party and the Austrian Mint, or up to a period of seven years, there is a legal obligation to retain data for tax purposes in accordance with Austrian law (section 132, para. 1).

Your rights regarding the use of data by the Austrian Mint:

According to article 15 of the GDPR, you are entitled to be provided with information from the Austrian Mint regarding any personal data that has been stored.

According to article 16 of the GDPR, you are entitled to amend any personal data that has been stored.

According to article 17 of the GDPR, you are entitled to have any personal data deleted by the Austrian Mint, unless any statutory storage obligations indicate otherwise.

According to articles 18 and 21 of the GDPR, you are entitled to the limitation as well as the restriction of the processing of your personal data by the Austrian Mint, unless any statutory duties indicate otherwise.

Furthermore, you have the right to make a formal complaint to the Austrian data protection authorities (Hohenstaufengasse 3, 1010 Vienna).
