FAQs about Ordering

You can conveniently order investment products (Vienna Philharmonic, crowns, guilders, ducats and bars) from our webshop.

In the Münze Österreich AG shop at Heumarkt 1, 1030 Wien all available products are available during the opening hours.

We can now offer you the chance to purchase investment products in gold, silver and platinum around the clock, seven days a week.

This is possible because instead of buying at the Fixing price (gold, or silver and platinum fixing prices), which is set twice a day, we buy the respective precious metals at the constantly changing Spot price and offer them to you at this price in real time. The price offered online is fixed in the order overview and held for 15 minutes - this applies to 5 minutes in the order overview page (this follows the shopping cart in the checkout) and the remaining period in the online payment processing. During this period you can make a decision about our offer. If you do not want to make a decision yet, you will be offered a new spot price at a later time.

At the Münze Österreich AG shop at Heumarkt 1, you can also purchase the Vienna Philharmonic in gold, silver and platinum, as well as gold bars, at the spot price. You will be informed of the current spot price at the cash desk.

The prices of our collector products are not affected.

 

Spot price: The Gold Spot price, a ‘live’ gold market price, is an average price made up of the following factors:

- the price at which the last gold trade was made;

- the lowest price at which the troy ounce of gold (31.1 grams) is currently available on the market (ask price); and

- the price that the highest bidder is willing to pay (bid price).

The Spot price is calculated around the clock by supply and demand, based on trading in Tokyo, New York and London.

Gold fixing: Gold fixing describes the fixing of the gold price, which takes place twice a day and is set by five of the largest gold-trading banks: Deutsche Bank, Barclays Capital, Scotia Mocatta, HSBC and Société Générale. They determine the gold price at around 10:30 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. Gold fixing took place for the first time on 12 September 1919 in London.

Possibilities:

  • Verification of identity for EUR 10,000 or more: Please send us a colour copy of a piece of valid official photo identification.
  • Order was not properly concluded: Visible in the customer account under your order history
  • Lost in spam folder
  • Order did not go through
  • Weekend order: After checking your order, we send a pro-forma invoice at the latest on the next working day.
  • Online payment was rejected

Please send the following documents for the customer investment

to verkauf@muenzeoesterreich.at .

Copy of a valid official photo identification in colour (passport, identity card, driving licence) of the authorised representatives as well as an extract from the Commercial Register, company name, address (invoice address), VAT number, delivery address if applicable and contact person. For the order requested, the item number, shipping method and quantity must also be sent.

Please do not pay the double order, then the order will be cancelled automatically after the payment deadline.

You actively enter the quantity in Basket/Checkout. It is not possible to change a quantity after the order has been placed. Due to the high level of demand, the maximum order quantity per registered customer may be limited for individual collector coins. Thank you for your understanding.

If you haven't received confirmation of your order within one hour of completing it, please proceed as follows:

 

  • Check the spam folder of your e-mail programme (automated e-mails are automatically treated as spam by some programmes).
  • If no confirmation of your order can be found in the spam folder and you have ordered by credit card, please check whether your card has been charged.
  • If you can't find an e-mail in the spam folder or a charge on your credit card, please e-mail our sales department at verkauf@muenzeoesterreich.at , stating your customer number, order date and – if possible – the approximate time of your order. We will then attempt to solve the problem based on our records.

On the basis of the directives governing money-laundering and counterterrorism, we are required to establish the identity of the buyer within six months and for a total value of € 15,000 or more. Legal basis: money-laundering legislation under §§ 165 and 278d of the Austrian Criminal Code (Strafgesetzbuch). Please send a copy of a piece of official photo identification (passport, driving licence, personal ID) to verkauf@muenzeoesterreich.at .

Once we've entered your order, you receive the advance payment invoice by e-mail or post within 24 hours (working days).

Orders received on weekends or public holidays are processed the next business day.

The advance payment invoice includes our account details and the amount of the invoice as well as the payment reference.

Once the amount shown on the advance payment invoice has been remitted and we've received it, you receive confirmation of its receipt by e-mail. Once we have consigned the products to the logistics partners, you receive an e-mail from us (with the tracking number for tracking the shipment).

Log in to your user account. You will find all of your orders under "User account/Order Overview". Here you will find your respective online invoices dating back four years for all deliveries of orders placed online under your customer number. You will find the respective order confirmation, invoice and shipping information for products purchased online and for subscription products that have been ordered for shipping.

You may also download your online invoices as a PDF.

In our webshop you will find new editions and products from recent years, euro-denominated coins at nominal value, artistic coins (medals), jewellery, bars and more for investing, collecting and giving. You will not find products from the schilling era or products from other manufacturers or countries. Coin dealers are responsible for these.

If you have not yet paid for the products and prefer to have the products shipped as of the next date of issue, we request you follow the procedure below:

Cancel the order by stating your customer number in an e-mail to verkauf@muenzeoesterreich.atand order the products again in the webshop, but this time for shipping. Prior to cancellation, please check whether the items you are interested in are still available.

Unfortunately, if you've already paid for the products, a change is no longer possible.

If you haven't paid for the products yet and prefer to pick up the products ordered for shipping as of the next date of issue, we request you follow the procedure below:

Cancel the order by stating your customer number in an e-mail to verkauf@muenzeoesterreich.at and order the products again in the webshop, but this time for pick-up. Prior to cancellation, please check whether the items you are interested in are still available.

You can order an engraved medal in our online shop or in the Austrian Mint Shop in Vienna (Am Heumarkt 1, 1030 Vienna).

Your order is processed immediately upon full payment and the medal (link) is shipped approximately three to five days upon receipt of payment.

For pick-up in our Austrian Mint Shop in Vienna (Am Heumarkt 1, 1030 Vienna), the medal can be collected and paid for after three working days.
