FAQs about Payment Options

We only deliver our products from the webshop, on receipt of payment by

  • credit card (VISA/MASTERCARD),
  • SOFORT transfer,
  • EPS/Giropay or
  • bank transfer on receipt of advance payment invoice.

In our the Austrian Mint Shop in Vienna (Am Heumarkt 1, 1030 Vienna), you can pay for the products in/by

  • cash,
  • EC card or
  • credit card (not for investment products)

For online payment of storage fees in case of a gold deposit, we accept SEPA direct debit as well as credit card.

Please note: investment products (Vienna Philharmonicscrowns, gulden, ducats und gold bars) can only be ordered during our opening hours from Monday to Friday (working days), 9.00 to 16.00, and for up to an order limit of € 15,000 in the online shop.

Our bank details are shown in the advance payment invoice you receive after ordering by e-mail. Once your payment has been posted, you receive confirmation of the payment by e-mail and we prepare for shipping or pick-up in our shop.

You can also pay for all non-investment-products in the webshop and in the shop at Heumarkt 1 by credit card. Only in the webshop we do accept payment by credit card also for investment products. So we accept VISA and MASTERCARD with a security code. When paying by credit card, your credit card account is immediately charged.

If you return any items, the corresponding amount of the products is credited to the credit card that was originally charged.

Your personal information including your account details is kept strictly private, of course. Your credit card information is encrypted using the SSL method. Our partners meet strict security standards to make your shopping experience secure and reliable. The Austrian Mint does not store any credit card information.

Once we've received your order, the open amount is charged to your credit card.

Please note that with subscriptions your credit card is charged two weeks prior to the coin's initial date of issue.

With the SOFORT payment method, you can make absolutely secure use of the online payment system with your usual online banking details using a PIN and TAN code!

Please note that the amount of the invoice is debited simply and securely by logging in to the online banking account. The product is only shipped to you or is ready for pick-up if the sum has reached our account from SOFORT. You receive a receipt of payment by e-mail as soon as the payment has been posted. If you return any items ordered, the corresponding amount of the products is credited to your account.

With the EPS payment method, you can make absolutely secure use of the online payment system with your usual online banking details using a PIN and TAN code!

Our accounting department is unable allocate the payment to your order without a payment reference and is therefore unable to post it. Please send your customer number and a copy of your confirmation of payment to verkauf@muenzeoesterreich.at.

The transfer probably overlapped when the payment reminder was sent. You will receive an e-mail from us with the confirmation of payment once we have posted the payment.

For security reasons the Austrian Mint requires full payment for the products ordered prior to delivery. The pro-forma invoice provides information concerning
  • the amount,
  • the products you ordered,
  • when the payment is due and
  • the necessary bank details.

If your payment is not remitted in time, the order is cancelled free of charge.

After payment in full the products are delivered. An invoice is enclosed that shows the final statement with all of the information, a "payable balance" of zero and is merely to inform you about the products paid for and received.

Once we've entered your order, you receive the pro-forma invoice by e-mail or post within 24 hours (on working days). Orders received on weekends or public holidays are processed the next business day.

We have your e-mail address from previous customer contact and have added it to your customer account. For this reason, you receive any information such as the pro-forma invoice by e-mail at this e-mail address.

Please e-mail us at verkauf@muenzeoesterreich.at and provide your customer number. We will be pleased to look into it.

Once we receive your order, you receive a pro-forma invoice from us by e-mail within 24 hours (working days) or by post (one to two working days). Orders received on weekends or public holidays are processed the next working day.

The pro-forma invoice includes our account details and the amount of the invoice as well as the payment reference. Once the amount shown on the pro-forma invoice has been remitted and we've received it, you receive confirmation of its receipt by e-mail. Once we have consigned the products to the logistics partners, you receive an e-mail from us (with the tracking number for tracking the shipment).
