FAQs about Coin Subscriptions

In principle, you can cancel the orders entered in accordance with the Austrian Distance Selling Act (Fernabgabegesetz). These include purchases from the webshop, order card, etc. NO right of withdrawal exists for coins and products whose price depends on the development of the rates on the financial markets, over which Münze Österreich AG has no influence. Currently, this includes the following products: Vienna Philharmonics in gold, silver and platinum in all denominations, bars in all available sizes, and ducats, crowns and gulden in all denominations. Nor does the right of withdrawal exist for products made to customer specifications (e.g. engraved medals). There is also no right of withdrawal for products purchased directly from our Münze Österreich shop at Am Heumarkt 1, 1030 Vienna.

You can view your subscriptions in your online customer account once you have registered online. There you can cancel each individual subscription yourself by clicking on the button "Specify end date". When you enter an end date here, your subscription is not continued beyond the date specified.

  • Create a customer account online
  • Take out a new subscription (series subscription, classic subscription)
  • Please send us an e-mail stating your customer number at verkauf@muenzeoesterreich.at or send a letter by post.

Please visit our website and select "Manage subscriptions" in your customer account. To take out a new subscription, click on "New subscription" and choose between "Series subscription" and "Classic subscription".

With subscriptions for which you have selected advance payment, you receive an invoice for each approximately four to six weeks prior to the date of issue. For credit card payments, we charge your credit card approximately 14 days prior to the date of issue. Afterward you receive confirmation of your order. If you collect the products yourself, you receive a confirmation of pick-up approximately two weeks before the pick-up period begins.

If you have a classic subscription, it is not necessary to place another order. When you take out a classic subscription, you automatically secure the current and all subsequent series – until cancellation.

When you take out a series subscription, the deliveries are limited to this series.

A subscription to Münze Österreich AG is a contract that can be terminated at any time.

Through a subscription, coins of a series or nominal value are reserved for you in the desired quality for a certain period. You therefore secure coins in a timely manner without having to order them individually or risking that the coins are quickly sold out.

For investment products we also offer a gold savings plan.

The series subscription includes all of the coins of a series and automatically ends with the final coin of that series.

With the classic subscription you get all of the coins of a certain nominal value in the desired quality (e.g. all € 10 silver proof-quality coins). The classic subscription ends with a written notice of termination.

Your subscription begins with the next issue of the coin in the series or category. If still available, previously issued coins can be ordered separately. When subscribing to a series, the coins of the series that have already appeared and their availability are displayed.

You'll find all of the available coins in the webshop.

No, unfortunately that's not possible. Please order the coins of a series that have already been issued under www.muenzeoesterreich.at as long as they are still available.

Your gold savings plan begins on the date you've selected.

No, unfortunately that's not possible. We will be pleased to send the coins for the selected date/occasion.

A change in your subscription is only possible in our webshop by cancelling the current subscription and taking out a new one.

To do this, please visit our website and in your user account select "Manage subscriptions". To renew or cancel a current coin subscription, select the desired subscription and edit the end date of the subscription in the detail view. Note: if there are fewer than eight weeks between the coin subscription's new end date and the date that the next coin from this subscription is issued, the change is not effective until the subsequent date of issue.

If you would like to receive an overview of all gold products, please visit our website. You'll find the current price of the Vienna Philharmonics and the price of gold and its development directly on our start page under "Gold".

Please note: gold prices can change at any time. The prices shown are always the value at a given moment in time and are therefore not binding.

These coins are especially popular and quickly sold out. In order to offer as many customers as possible the chance to obtain one of these coins, a certain contingent is available in the webshop as of the date of issue. An additional contingent is offered at the Austrian Mint Shop in Vienna (Am Heumarkt 1, 1030 Vienna) as of the date of issue. Please note that for reasons of fairness only one coin can be offered per customer.

Unfortunately, we are unable to accept any further orders for the € 3 coins. The number of long-term reservations exhausted the contingent long ago. As is customary, we will deliver additional contingents to banks, coin dealers and other distribution partners.

Our customers are very important to us; their delight in our products and their satisfaction is our utmost objective. That means we're quite keen to offer coin collectors and coin lovers attractively designed coins at appealing prices.

Equitable distribution is frequently quite difficult for coins whose demand is often well in excess of the available quantity. A large number of the coins are marketed by distributors. These include commercial banks and savings banks, branches of Dorotheum, and coin dealers in Germany and abroad. Additional coins go to our loyal subscribers. Thus few or no coins are left for independent sale, particularly in the case of highly popular items.

We have no influence on offers from dealers and private individuals on online portals such as eBay. We are unable to prevent this, nor do we support it. We are unable to ascertain the origin of the quantities offered. All we can do is try to allocate reasonable contingents of coins to our distributors and endeavour to ensure that our customers can at least get an item of the relevant issue as long as a coin is available.

That depends on your desired method of payment:

  • For advance payment by bank transfer, you receive the advance payment invoice approximately three to four weeks prior to issue.
  • For payment by credit card, you are generally sent confirmation of the order two weeks before the coins are issued.
  • For pick-up in our Austrian Mint Shop in Vienna (Am Heumarkt 1, 1030 Vienna), you receive the pick-up slip by post or e-mail around two weeks prior to the date of issue.

In order to spare you unnecessary waiting times, we urgently recommend that you pick up your coins only after the date of issue. Your order is reserved for you for 14 days from the date of issue.

Your order is automatically cancelled. Please note that in the case of a subscription, the subscription is automatically cancelled if the products are not purchased.

If coins which are subscribed to are not paid or picked up in time, the subscription is automatically cancelled. Our intention with this is to give other customers the chance to obtain the sought-after coins.

You can see your subscriptions in your web account under 'User account' / 'Manage subscriptions'.

If you have any questions, please contact us, stating your customer number, at verkauf@muenzeoesterreich.at. We will be pleased to assist you.
