Silver coin, Mozart: The Legend
Larger than life Not only the most revered composer of all time, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart was the prototype musical genius who died far too young and became a legend in the aftermath. Showing no signs of fading more than two centuries since his death, the Mozart legend is celebrated in the third and final coin in the Austrian Mint’s Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart series.

COIN SET, OFFICIAL AUSTRIAN EURO COIN SET 2016 - PROOF QUALITY
During its eventful history, the National Bank of Austria has overseen the transition from the Gulden to the Crown, from the Schilling to the Reichsmark, and from the Schilling to the Euro. Today it helps shape the monetary policy of the Eurozone and safeguard price stability. As the National Bank celebrates its bicentenary in 2016, there is no more fitting subject for this year’s Official Austrian Euro Coin Set.

Silver Coin, AMADEUS: THE GENIUS
SIMPLY THE BEST The sublime second coin in the Austrian Mint’s three-coin Mozart series, Amadeus puts the spotlight on Mozart during his adult years. The Vienna music world made him rich, yet he died in debt. But this little gem shows that the music of the greatest composer of all time is priceless.

Gold coin, The Kiss
ALL GOOD ROMANCES END WITH A KISS Women may have dominated the work of Gustav Klimt, but his most famous painting also features a man. Many experts believe the man in The Kiss is Klimt himself and that the woman he is kissing is Emile Flöge, Klimt’s partner in real life. Whether or not that is the case, like the Mona Lisa in Paris, The Kiss still has the power to make people from all over the world flock to see it. No other work of Klimt’s could provide a more fitting climax to the Austrian Mint’s Klimt and his Women series, which began in 2012 as a celebration of the 150th anniversary of the Viennese master’s birth and is now drawing to a close.

SILVER NIOBIUM COIN , Time
A BRIEF HISTORY OF TIMEKEEPING The theoretical meaning of time may have long been a major subject of debate among philosophers, physicists and religious figures, but the more practical discipline of its measurement has proved to be less of a mystery. Dedicated to the history of chronometry, the latest ingenious addition to the Austrian Mint’s best-selling two-tone silver niobium coins, ‘Time’ uses its two-tone niobium core and outer silver ring to show a selection of timepieces throughout the ages.

SPECIAL UNCIRCULATED QUALITY, OFFICIAL AUSTRIAN EURO COIN SET 2016
Founded on 1 June 1816, during the regency of Emperor Franz Joseph 1, the National Bank of Austria has long been the country’s official issuer of bank notes. During its eventful history the National Bank has also overseen the transition from the Gulden to the Crown, from the Schilling to the Reichsmark, and from the Schilling to the Euro. With the National Bank celebrating its bicentenary in 2016, there is no more fitting a subject for this year’s Official Austrian Euro Coin Set. The Official Austrian Euro Coin Set 2016 also features a brand new 2 euro coin dedicated to the bicentenary of the National Bank of Austria. Like the other seven coins in the set it is a Special Uncirculated coin designed to meet the most exacting standards. As a ‘first strike’ – an early strike in a series struck from a new die – immediately after minting each coin is quality checked and packed with care to ensure that every single one is an unblemished masterpiece.
