We are the Schmitts. A wonderfully normal family, Dad always says. With two wonderfully well-behaved children, Mom always says. I am Violetta. My hobby is horse riding. I am Ignazius, called Iggy. My hobby is exploring animals. Our ordinary life in our ordinary house was ordinary and boring.
Until we found a letter for us in the postbox. An old lady in the neighborhood had appendicitis and had to go to the hospital. She asked us to feed the pets in her house for a few days. We went there. Our parents came with us. There was a key in the envelope. It locked the front door. Our parents were horrified by the house: too dirty, too musty, too dilapidated. We were thrilled! But there was no animal to be found in the garden or the house.
That night, we secretly crept back in. We heard snorting, neighing, giggling, bubbling - a soft roar. The noises came from a locked room. The house key turned into another key in our hand. We put it in the lock of the room door. The animal noises came through the round window. There was a telescope in front of the window. Out there was a world like we had never seen before. What kind of country was it? We wanted to visit our neighbor in the hospital. But she wasn't there. She was healthy and sent us a letter from somewhere by the sea.
The mythical creatures need a story to keep them alive. You have to tell them! Only that can save them from the Lord of Nothingness!
