The Official Austrian Euro Coin Set 2020 commemorates the 75th anniversary of the end of the Second World War in 1945. With the defeat of the Third Reich by the Allies, the Nazi reign of terror came to an end and Austria became an independent state once again.

During the Holocaust millions of Austrian citizens were persecuted, abducted and murdered for racist and anti-Semitic reasons. The cover of the Coin Set shows the granite ‘Stairs of Death’ at Mauthausen concentration camp, a chilling reminder of the unprecedented suffering of the Jewish people.

The Euro Coin Set

Comprising each of the eight euro and cent coins in circulation, this set is ideal as a gift, a lasting memento or a fitting souvenir of Austria, which features native flowers, iconic buildings and illustrious Austrians. All Special Uncirculated quality coins are designed to meet the most exacting standards. As a ‘first strike’ – an early strike in a series struck from a new die – immediately after minting, each coin is quality checked and packed with care to ensure that every single one is an unblemished masterpiece.
