Yes, if this person has the original order confirmation, which we can process automatically, we are permitted to consign the products. If you would like a third person to pick up your products and the amount has already been transferred, we require the authorisation you issued to the person handling the pick-up for the client as well as a copy of the valid official photo ID of the client and person handling the pick-up.

We only accept valid driving licences, personal IDs and passports.

Different provisions apply to products from the Gold Depository. Please read FAQs gold depot account.

We are open on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 09.00 to 16.00 and on Wednesdays from 9.00 to 18.00.

Our specified pick-up period is 14 days.

You are welcome to pay with EUR 500 bank notes in our Münze Österreich shop in Vienna (Am Heumarkt 1, 1030 Vienna).

The staff at our Münze Österreich shop will be pleased to provide you with information about our products. Unfortunately, it is not possible to make an appointment. Please note our opening hours.

One-off registration of your personal information with us is necessary to enable us to carry out your order. Afterward, please e-mail your customer number.

At the same time, we ask you to send us a piece of valid official photo identification (passport, driving licence or identity card) by e-mail. Only then will it be possible for us to book an order.

We recommend that you carry out online proof of identity free of charge. You can find more details on this under FAQs-Online legitimization.

Please note in connection with this that an order of this magnitude is only possible with personal pick-up. Due to the restrictions of our insurer, shipping is not permitted on this scale. The products ordered may only be picked up once our written confirmation of receipt of payment has been received and upon simultaneous presentation of the original identification document.

We would like to inform you about the legal requirements to which we, and therefore our customers, are subject:

Money laundering directives are aimed at preventing the introduction of illegal sums of money into the official financial and economic system. Through money laundering Directive 2005/60/EC of 26 October 2005 and implementing Directive 2006/70/EC of 1 August 2006, the Austrian Trade Act obliges businesses such as Münze Österreich AG to take measures to combat money laundering and terrorist financing (for more information, see §§ 365m to 365z Gewerbeordnung 1994).

For this reason, we are obliged to verify your identify by means of your passport or driving licence when you make a purchase, whether in cash or other form of payment, for a total value of more than €10,000, and to note your identification number on the receipt. We are also required to do this by law if you make several purchases totalling more than €10,000 within a six-month period.

If your purchase exceeds €75,000, you will have to transfer the payment from a bank that is subject to the money laundering guidelines. This also applies when you make several  purchases amounting to €75,000 within a six-month period.

Münze Österreich AG guarantees that your purchases are made as securely and efficiently as possible, and compliance with legal requirements obviously plays a part in this.

On the basis of the directives governing money-laundering and counterterrorism, we are required to establish the identity of the buyer for sales within six months and for an accumulated value of € 10,000 or more. Without exception, a valid passport, identity card or driving licence is required as proof of identity. Legal basis: money-laundering legislation under §§ 165 and 278d of the Austrian Criminal Code (Strafgesetzbuch). The regulation in the country in which the purchase is made applies. The customer is responsible for complying with the reporting obligation when importing into the country of residence.

For purchases in our Austrian Mint Shop in Vienna (Am Heumarkt 1, 1030 Vienna) (link), our employees are required to ask for identification, even if two or more buyers appear to be connected.

Furthermore, transactions exceeding a value of € 75,000 may only be concluded if the money is paid by bank transfer (no cash payment). The limit of € 75,000 within six months is likewise cumulative.
