In first coin in the series will appear on Wednesday, 25 April 2012 and features the central region of Austria, Steiermark or Styria in English. Viktoria Reicht, a ten-year-old girl from Styria, depicted her homeland with the typical Styrian heart (symbolising the heart of Austria), its mountains, trees, rivers, sunflowers and pumpkins. The other side of the coin shows the historic centre of Graz, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Rendered by the engraver Thomas Pesendorfer, it features emblematic sights of the city of Graz such as the Clocktower, the Landhaus and the Cathedral, as well as the nearby Eggenberg Castle.
